The 6th Nordic Biogas Conference is fast approaching and Convion will be there, too. The biggest biogas conference in Scandinavia will be held from 7th through 8th of September on board Viking Grace cruise ship. The program of the event includes two intensive conference days en route Turku-Stockholm-Turku and an excursion day on the 9th of September with visits to biogas plants in Finland. The conference is organized by biogas representatives from all five Nordic countries and attracts attendees also internationally.
The conference includes plenary presentations, parallel sessions, a poster session and an exhibition. Mr Tuomas Hakala from Convion will give a presentation about solid oxide fuel cell systems in biogas applications. Do not miss an opportunity to hear about the possibilities that fuel cell co-generation systems open up in small and mid-sized biogas producing anaerobic digestion plants.
Sept 8th, 2016 at 2:40pm – 3:00 pm: “Clean energy from waste water by solid oxide fuel cells”
The presentation will introduce and outline an implementation of solid oxide fuel cell systems to a waste water treatment plant as local, biogas fuelled power generators. The concept will be showcased in a European project DEMOSOFC, where the first industrial scale, biogas fuelled solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system in Europe will be installed in the SMAT Collegno waste water treatment plant in Turin area, Italy. Advantages of an SOFC system in a small or mid-sized biogas plant include significantly higher electrical energy generation from a given gas resource, power-to-heat ratio better matching with local loads, lower maintenance need and radically lower local emissions as compared to conventional generators.
We welcome you also to meet us at the conference networking sessions. We’ll be happy to share with you details and updates on Convion product offering and oncoming demonstrations and discuss about how our product would fit into your application. Should you wish to pre-schedule a meeting with us at the conference, please contact Tuomas Hakala by e-mail tuomas.hakala@convion.fi or by phone, +358-400-359 776. We look forward to meeting you at the conference.
